What happens when an invoice is overdue

An invoice becomes overdue the day after its due date. Here is what follows, so nothing comes as a surprise.

The sequence

  • Status change. The invoice is marked overdue in the portal at crm.zylax.com.my and on your dashboard.
  • Reminders. Automated reminders are sent to the contacts on your account with invoice notifications enabled.
  • Direct contact. If reminders go unanswered, we contact your primary contact directly to check whether there is a problem with the invoice itself.
  • Work pauses. Where the overdue invoice is a milestone invoice, the next stage of work is held until it is settled.
  • Service effects. For overdue renewals covering hosting, domains or licences, the underlying service can lapse, which takes a website or business email offline.

If you dispute the invoice

Say so immediately, in writing, stating exactly which line you disagree with and why. A disputed invoice can be corrected and reissued. What does not help is leaving it unpaid without telling us, because from our side that is indistinguishable from a payment problem.

If you simply need more time

Tell us before the due date. We would far rather agree a revised date than send reminders into silence. A short extension arranged in advance is usually straightforward.

If you have already paid

Send the transfer receipt with the invoice number. Payments made without a reference, or covering several invoices in one lump sum with no breakdown, are the most common reason an invoice shows overdue when the money has actually arrived.

Renewals deserve extra attention

An expired domain takes your website and email offline and, after a grace period, can be registered by someone else. Treat renewal invoices as time critical rather than routine.

Clearing an overdue invoice

Pay by Maybank transfer or DuitNow QR using the invoice number as the reference, then send the receipt. Once recorded, the status updates and any paused work resumes.

If an invoice is overdue and you are unsure why, reply to the invoice email or write to [email protected].
