Where tax applies to your engagement, it is shown as a separate line rather than buried in the item prices, so you can see exactly what is being charged.
How it appears
Your quotation shows the subtotal for the work, then any applicable tax as its own line, then the total payable in MYR. The same structure carries to your invoices, so the quotation total and the invoice total reconcile.
Reading the figures
Always work from the total payable when planning your budget. Comparing a tax exclusive subtotal from one supplier against a tax inclusive total from another is the most common cause of a budget shortfall.
Your tax details
If your company has tax registration details that must appear on invoices you receive, give them to us before the first invoice is issued. They are stored on your company profile in the portal at crm.zylax.com.my and applied to every document from then on. Reissuing invoices later to add details is possible but avoidable.
Registered company name matters
Tax documents must carry your registered company name and registration number exactly as they appear on your official documents. A trading name or abbreviation can cause your own accounts department or auditor to reject the invoice. Check these on the quotation before you accept.
Third party charges
Some costs pass through from third parties, such as domain registration fees, payment gateway transaction fees and software licences. These follow the tax treatment of the provider concerned, and where they are billed to you directly by that provider, their invoice is the tax document, not ours.
Overseas clients
If you are invoicing from outside Malaysia, tell us at quotation stage so the correct treatment is applied from the start.
We are not tax advisers
We can explain what appears on your document and why. Questions about how a cost should be treated in your own accounts, or what you can claim, are for your accountant.
For a query about the tax line on a specific document, reply to that document's email thread or write to [email protected].
