Yes. We take on existing sites for fixes, improvements, hosting migrations and ongoing maintenance. There is one extra step compared with our own builds, which is understanding what we are inheriting.
We start with an audit
Before quoting ongoing work on an unfamiliar site, we review:
- The platform and version, and how far behind it is.
- Themes and plugins in use, whether they are current, and whether any are abandoned or from unofficial sources.
- Custom code and how it was written, since undocumented modifications are where surprises live.
- Hosting environment, PHP version and resource limits.
- Security state, including any signs of previous compromise.
- Backups, or the absence of them.
The audit produces an honest assessment: what is fine, what needs attention now, and what will need attention within the year.
What we sometimes find
Occasionally an inherited site is in poor enough condition that repairing it costs more than rebuilding, particularly where it runs an unsupported platform version, relies on abandoned plugins, or was built with nulled software containing backdoors. If that is the case we will say so plainly with reasons, and you can decide. We would rather lose a maintenance sale than take responsibility for something we cannot keep safe.
Access we need
Admin login, hosting control panel access, and domain or DNS access. Create separate accounts for us rather than sharing your own, and read our safe sharing article before sending anything.
Small fixes
We are happy to take one off jobs: a broken form, a layout fault, a speed problem, an SSL warning. These are quoted individually. For anything ongoing, a maintenance plan is more economical than repeated ad hoc requests.
If another agency is still involved
Tell us. Two parties editing the same site without coordination causes conflicts and makes faults impossible to attribute.
