Projects move at the speed of the slowest input. Preparing these items before kickoff, or at least early, is the most reliable way to hit your launch date.
Brand assets
- Your logo in a vector format such as AI, EPS, SVG or a layered PDF. A logo pulled from an old website is too low resolution to use.
- Brand colours and fonts if you have a brand guideline. If not, we will propose a palette.
- Any existing marketing material that shows how the brand is meant to look.
Content
- Text for each page. Final wording, not notes. If writing is not something you have capacity for, tell us early and we will arrange copywriting rather than letting the project stall.
- Photographs at full resolution. Product shots, team photos, premises, work samples. Phone photos taken in good light are usually fine; screenshots of images from Facebook are not.
- Company details for the footer and contact page: registered name, address, phone, email, business hours, SSM number if you display it.
- Any documents you want downloadable, such as brochures or price lists.
Access and accounts
- Domain registrar login, or the ability to change DNS records.
- Existing hosting access if we are migrating a site.
- Analytics, social media and any third party service the site must connect to.
For e-commerce
- Product data in a spreadsheet: name, description, price, SKU, categories, variants, weight for shipping.
- Your delivery zones and rates.
- Payment gateway account, or a decision on which to apply for. Applications take time, so start early.
Decisions
Name one person with authority to approve designs and content. Projects with no clear decision maker lose more time than any technical problem ever causes.
