Yes. Sites we build on WordPress and similar platforms are designed for you to manage your own content, and we hand over admin access at launch.
What you will comfortably be able to do
- Edit text on existing pages.
- Add and edit blog posts, news items and announcements.
- Swap images and update banners.
- Add products, update prices and manage stock on an e-commerce site.
- View and export enquiries submitted through your forms.
- Update contact details, opening hours and downloadable documents.
What we recommend leaving to us
- Plugin and core updates, which need a backup and testing first.
- Theme and template file changes.
- Payment, shipping and tax configuration once it is working.
- Anything involving code, DNS or server settings.
This is not gatekeeping. These are the areas where a small mistake takes the site down, and where recovery costs more than the change was worth.
Handover and training
At launch we walk you through your admin area covering the tasks you will actually perform. We can record the session so new staff can watch it later, and provide written notes for the routine tasks specific to your site.
User accounts for your team
Everyone who edits should have their own named account with a role matched to their job. Most people need Editor or Author rather than Administrator. Keep administrator accounts to one or two people. This keeps your audit trail meaningful and limits accidental damage.
Before you make a big change
If you are about to restructure a page or bulk edit content, tell us so a backup is taken first. Under a maintenance plan this is routine.
If you would rather not
Plenty of clients prefer to send changes to us. A maintenance plan covers content updates and is often cheaper than the staff time spent doing them internally.
