How project timelines are calculated

Timelines on a Zylax quotation are working day estimates that assume a specific pattern of cooperation. Understanding the assumptions tells you where a schedule can slip.

What the estimate covers

The duration on your quotation counts working days of Zylax effort plus the standard review windows. It does not count weekends or Malaysian public holidays, and it does not count time spent waiting on you.

The assumptions built into it

  • The deposit clears before work begins.
  • Content arrives on the dates agreed at kickoff.
  • Feedback on each review round comes back within the agreed window, usually a few working days.
  • Feedback is consolidated into one response, not sent in pieces over two weeks.
  • Scope stays as quoted.

How the clock pauses

When we hand over a staging site for review, the project clock stops on our side and starts on yours. If a review that was scheduled for three days takes fifteen, the launch date moves by twelve days. This is not a penalty, it is arithmetic. The same applies to outstanding content and to third party dependencies such as a payment gateway approval or a domain transfer.

Things outside anyone's control

  • Domain registrar and DNS propagation, which can take up to 48 hours.
  • Payment gateway merchant approvals, which run on the provider's own timeline.
  • SSL issuance and hosting provisioning on third party infrastructure.

We flag these as dependencies at kickoff so they are visible rather than a surprise.

Tracking progress

Milestones and their status are visible on your project in the portal at crm.zylax.com.my. If a date is at risk, we tell you as soon as we know rather than on the day it is missed.

Fixed launch dates

If your launch is tied to an event, a trade show or a campaign, say so before you accept the quotation. We plan backwards from a fixed date and build in buffer, which sometimes means trimming scope for phase one and adding the rest afterwards.

Questions about your specific schedule are best answered on your project thread. Reply to your email or contact [email protected].
