The projects that finish on schedule are the ones where the client had their material ready on day one. Here is the full list of what we ask for, and why each item matters.
Brand assets
- Logo files in vector format (AI, EPS or SVG). A JPG pulled from your old website will look blurry on a modern screen and cannot be resized cleanly.
- Brand colours as hex codes if you have them. If not, we will pick a palette from your logo and show it to you for approval.
- Fonts you are licensed to use, or a note that we should choose web fonts for you.
Content
- Text for each page, in an editable format such as Word or Google Docs. Not a PDF, and not screenshots.
- Photographs at full resolution. Product shots, team photos, premises, anything specific to your business.
- Company registration details, business address, phone numbers and the email addresses you want published.
Technical access
- Domain registrar login, or a contact at your registrar who can update DNS records. For .com.my domains this often means a MYNIC reseller account.
- Existing hosting or cPanel credentials if we are working on a site that is already live.
- Access to any third party service we need to connect, such as a payment gateway, courier account or email marketing tool.
Decisions
Decide before kickoff who signs off on design, who signs off on content, and who approves invoices. These can be the same person. What causes delay is having no answer at all when we ask.
If your content is not ready
Tell us. We can start on structure and design using placeholder text, then drop your real content in later. What we cannot do is guess at your content and then rebuild pages when the real text arrives at a different length. Placeholder content is a planned step, not a fallback.
Send anything large through the file upload area in your portal at crm.zylax.com.my rather than by email attachment. If you get stuck, reply to your email thread or write to [email protected].
