Project completion and handover

A project is complete when the agreed scope is delivered, accepted and handed over. This article covers what completion involves and what you should check.

What completion means

  • Every item on the approved scope has been delivered.
  • Testing is finished and reported defects are resolved.
  • The site or system is live on your domain and functioning.
  • You have given written sign off.
  • Final invoices are settled.

What you receive

  • Administrator access with your own password.
  • Hosting and domain details where these were arranged by us.
  • A handover document covering what was delivered, where it lives, and how to do the routine tasks.
  • Credentials for third party accounts created for the project.
  • Training, where included on your quotation.

Check before you accept

Log in to every account listed in the handover document and confirm it works. Edit a page and save it. Submit a form and confirm the notification arrives. Confirm you can reach the hosting or domain control panel. It is far easier to fix an access problem now than in six months.

Ownership

On full settlement, the delivered work is yours. Third party components such as licensed themes, plugins and fonts stay under their own licences, and renewable items stay renewable. Your handover document lists these with their renewal dates so nothing lapses unnoticed.

After completion

The post launch support period begins, covering defects in what we delivered. New work is quoted separately. When that period ends, you can move to a maintenance plan or engage us as needed.

Keep your records

The project, its files and the handover document stay available in the portal at crm.zylax.com.my. Keep your own copy of credentials somewhere your team can find them, not only with one individual.

Working together again

Returning clients skip most of the discovery work, since we already hold your brand assets, hosting details and preferences. A phase two usually starts much faster than a first project.

If anything is unclear after handover, reply to your project thread or write to [email protected].
