A staging site is a private working copy of your website where we build and you review, before anything appears on your real domain.
Where it lives
Staging runs on a temporary address we provide, not on your domain. Your existing live website keeps running untouched throughout, which matters when we are replacing a site that is still receiving enquiries.
It is private on purpose
Staging is blocked from search engines and usually protected by a password so an unfinished site is never indexed by Google or found by a customer. Do not remove the protection or publish the staging link publicly. If a colleague needs access, ask us to arrange it properly.
How to review it
- Read every page as a visitor would, not just skim the design.
- Check it on your phone as well as your desktop. Most Malaysian traffic is mobile.
- Click every link in the navigation and in the page content.
- Submit every form and confirm the notification email arrives where it should.
- Test any checkout or booking flow end to end, including the failure paths.
- Check spelling of names, addresses, phone numbers and prices. These are yours to verify, we cannot know what is correct.
What will look unfinished
Placeholder images or text where your content is still outstanding. Payment gateways in test mode. Analytics and tracking often connected only at launch. We will tell you which of these apply so you do not report them as faults.
Sending feedback
Post it on the project discussion in the portal at crm.zylax.com.my, consolidated into one message, with the page name against each point. Numbered points let us reply item by item.
Do not add content directly
Unless we have specifically asked you to, avoid editing staging yourself during the build. Simultaneous edits can be overwritten during a deployment.
After launch
Staging is normally taken down or repurposed after go live. Save anything you want from it before then.
If you cannot access staging or the password is not working, reply to your project thread or write to [email protected].
