How the first year free hosting works

Most Zylax website projects include hosting for the first year at no extra cost. It is a genuine inclusion, not a trial, but there are a few practical points worth knowing so the second year does not surprise you.

When the year starts

The free period runs from the date your site goes live on our hosting, not from the date you signed the quotation and not from the date the project started. If a project runs long, your free year is not consumed by the build time.

What it covers

The hosting plan itself: server resources, SSL certificate, DNS management, backups and monitoring as described in our managed hosting article. It is the same service a paying hosting client receives.

What it does not cover

  • Domain registration and renewal. Domains are billed by the registrar every year including the first. A .com.my and a .com have different costs and different renewal dates.
  • Email mailbox hosting, if you take a paid mailbox service.
  • Maintenance. Plugin updates, content changes and development work are separate from hosting.
  • Third party licences for premium themes, plugins or gateways.

What happens at the end of the year

We send a renewal invoice ahead of the anniversary date, quoted in MYR, payable by bank transfer or DuitNow QR. Nothing is charged automatically without an invoice. If you renew, service continues without interruption. If you decide not to, tell us before the date so we can arrange a clean handover of your files and database rather than letting the service lapse.

Keep the reminder date

Note the go live date in your own calendar when the site launches. It is the anniversary that matters, and a year is long enough for everyone to forget.

If you are not sure when your free year ends, reply to your email thread or contact [email protected] and we will confirm the date.
